2010 Weekly SAL - 4th and 5th week

Last week I forgot to show you my SAL piece so this week I'll show you two wips so you'll see how this is progressing. I managed to get rid of the migraine with the massage so I have actually been able to stitch! :) But my SAL piece didn't get so much attention since two babies were born two weeks ago (a girl to my cousin and a boy to my friend) and I have been stitching and sewing baby gifts for them. I'll show picture when they have been received by the lovely babies. :)

My Wild Ones Alphabet looks a whole lot sunnier now that I have stitched the orange leaves on the left. They are still missing a couple of orange stitches and the backstitching and I will get on those right after I have posted this. You never know what fun things will appear on the fabric next week. :)

2010 Weekly SAL - 3rd week

This week I have tried to fight against migraines and lost the fight two times. My shoulder and neck muscles have gotten even worse so I booked myself a massage for tomorrow and I hope that will end these migraines. I only got a few stitches done to my SAL piece. I stitched some of the letter G block. I hope I will be able to stitch more next week.

2010 Weekly SAL - 2nd week

On Friday I had such a head splitting migraine that I couldn't stitch on Saturday either. Inspite of that I got a good chunk of my 2010 SAL project stitched this week. There is a bright orange giraffe now and some bushes around it. The place for the "G" can be seen clearly so I think I'll stitch that one next. Also I want to stitch the big orange/yellow leaves on the left side before next week's update pic. But now I will put my stitching aside for a day or two to let my shoulder muscels relax before I get another migraine attack. I had more that three months of migraine free time before Friday and I intend to have at least that before the next one. So I'll have many different goals for the weeks to come. :)

One more Christmas present

I have one Christmas present that I made to show you. This box went to my friend and neighbour Päivi and it's stitched with the same patterns that I used for Michiko's box earlier. I used a sparkling aida, a red ribbon and red thread for this one.

The sparkle of the fabric can be seen better in this last picture. It looks like it's stitched on snow. :)

Please read my earlier post about the knitting magazine and if you can help me, please send me an email.

Can you help me?

I saw a great knitting pattern on Interweave's website. It's on Knitscene magazine and I thought I'll just order a copy. But then I saw that they take more than 30 dollars to send it to Finland! I think that's a real daylight robbery! So I was wondering if anyone in US could be able to buy it for me and send it here with real postage rates? :) I can pay with Paypal. The magazine is Knitscene Fall 2009 issue. Please email me or leave me a comment if you can help. Here is a picture of that issue.

Start of the 2010 Weekly SAL

I started my 2010 Weekly SAL project on 1st of January. The first update to the SAL blog was due today. My project is "Wild Ones Alphabet" by DMC. I counted that I need to stitch about 1000 stitches per week to get this done by the end of the year. As I was so excited to start I have already stitched over 2000 stitches so I am ahead of schedule. :) Updates from 26 participants can be seen on every Sunday at the SAL blog.

I finished my first HAED!

Happy Dance, Happy Dance!!! :D I finally finished my very first Heaven and Earth Designs chart on 30th of December 09. I took part in a two week long end of the year Stitch-A-Long and used about ten days to finish the QS White Rose Fae by Nadia Tate.

She is stitched on 25ct Lugana (colour Blush) with one thread over one. For the sparkly parts (there's a lot of sparkle here! :D) I used Petite Braid 10. I started to stitch her in 29th of May 2008 and stitched most of her in that summer. Then I lost my mojo and only stitched a few stitched every now and then. When I saw the end of the year SAL on HAED Bulletin Board I decided it was time to finish this and I am so happy that I did. :) I already have the frame and the mat for her so I'll try to frame her soon and post a picture.
