I bought QS White Rose Fae yesterday from Heaven and Earth Designs. We received an invitation to my aunt's wedding and I want to stitch them something really nice for a wedding present. I started to stitch this last night but since I had to sort the threads and cut and grid the fabric I didn't get so much done yet so pics are coming later. But here is a pic of the artwork that it's based on. I only have about two months to finish this so keep your fingers crossed that I make it in time! That also means that I won't be able to stitch a lot of my other WIP's before the wedding in August.

I've been RAKed! :)
I got to work this morning very tired and not so happy. I opened my email and found out that I had been RAKed. RAK (a random act of kindness) is when someone gifts you with a chart at Heaven and Earth Designs. I had Temptation storykeep at my wish list and Norty RAK Faerie bought it for me! I just love the chart and will start it as soon as possible. Thank You Norty!

Baby gift
Today I went to see the cutest little baby girl! It always takes me by surprise how tiny they are when they are only a week old. And they grow so fast that before you know it they are walking. I gave her a pink baby bunny by DMC. I stitched a little pink elephant on the bib. I hope she likes it as much as one little boy loves his yellow bunny. :)
Edit 05/22/08: I forgot to tell where I got the chart for this from. It is from The World of Cross Stitching magazine, issue 126. The elephant was light blue in the original chart so I converted it to pinks.

Knitting, to be continued...
I haven't been knitting this spring mainly because I started new cross stitching projects. And also because I knit mostly at winter and I have had this blog only a few months so there is not much winter time in here yet. But as you have seen I have bought yarn (well I always buy yarn, threads and so on :D) and I am going to knit some hats for next winter before the winter comes. :) So bear with me for a few months and you'll see something knitted.

Shopping in Tallinn, Estonia
I was on a business trip at Tallinn, Estonia for a few days and I had some free time to do some shopping. I went to an Ülemiste shopping center which has about 160 shops. Of course the one that interested me most was Käsitöömaailm, a shop that sells mainly cross stitching, knitting and sewing supplies. Because prices are a lot lower in Estonia than in Finland I bought a big pile of threads, some stitchbows and file inserts. I bet I made the sellers day. :)
Here are my new threads and accessories. I love to see all those pretty colours together. I have already arranged these to binders.

WIP Lickle Ted & Flower - 12th of May
I have been stitching this and Heart of the World during last weekend. It is weird stitching 2 over 2 after stitching those teeny tiny HAED stitches. :) This is stitched on 32ct evenweave with DMC.
This is how it's going to look like...hopefully :)

Pink Fiber Heaven Contest
I took part in a contest in which you can win 10 pink fibers. All you need to do is to go to this site and leave a comment there. The site Stitch Pink hopes to bring awareness of the importance of breast screening, and early detection of breast cancer. Click the pic and you get there! Hurry up, the draw is on 15th of May.

...and I went back again
At the last day of the sale I decided to buy three more charts to my ever growing stash. :)
The Perfect Poison by Annie Rodrigue
Tricksters by Annie Rodrigue
QS Autumn Winds by Meredith Dillman
Like I wrote before I really like Annie's style so I had to buy these two. Don't you just love the mean grin on her face on The Perfect Poison? And Quick Stitch Autumn Winds just has the loveliest colours. You might start to see what colours I like since almost all the charts I bought have either autumn colours or lovely greens.

There is a sale so I cannot help myself...
Heaven and Earth Designs have a Mother's Day sale this week. I know I made a promise to myself that I won't buy another one before I finish at least one but come on it's a sale! :D So I bought three charts.
Fairy Grove by Lee Anne Seed
Little Red Riding Hood by Annie Rodrigue
Forget Me Not by Rachel Anderson
I love Lee Anne Seed's Lights Collection and Fairy Grove has lovely green colours and beautiful fairy silhouette. In the Little Red Riding Hood the wolf figure on the back is just great and I love Annie Rodrigue's style. Her The Perfect Poison, Angry Ballerina and Tricksters are all on my wish list. Maybe I get them next time there is a sale :) Forget Me Not has the same kind of delicate charm that Lily of the Valley has and they will be a perfect mach.

Shade cards and Q-snap
I have used both DMC and Anchor threads so I have some colours in DMC and some in Anchor. So I bought shade cards with actual threads to help with conversions. There are some conversion lists online but I like to see how close match they are and compare them myself.
I also bought some threads for a baby present I started to stitch today.
I also finally bought my first Q-snap frame. It's 11" x 11" so it's for my bigger projects. I'll try it out this weekend when I'm taking part in May SAL with the Heart of the World.

Shopping and stitching
So I ordered some Petite Treasure Braid for my Storykeeper and they arrived on Friday. I also ordered some DMC colour variation threads and gold plated needles.
I stitched a little scissor fob for myself. It is stitched on Zweigart 40ct Newcastle Linen (cream) with DMC Variegated, colour 115, Garnet. I stitched it 1 over 2.
Free chart for this scissor fob is from My Aunt's Attic.
My new threads and gold plated needles, size 26.
